How do I setup a custom domain?
By default, Tweak supports the creation of a custom subdomain for each reseller, e.g. yourcompany.cmspath.com. The cmspath.com portion is a generic domain name we've setup to make sure we stay in the background and your client stays connected to your brand.
If you want to take things one step further, you can setup your own domain name to work with Tweak. Doing this requires some knowledge of how domain names and DNS records are modified, the entire scope of which cannot be covered in this article. Our assumption is that you have access to your DNS records and are familiar with the process of managing DNS records. If you need further assistance, we'd suggest contacting your domain/DNS provider.
- Login to your domain name or DNS account (they're often the
same account, but they can be separated).
- Create a new CNAME record by pointing your custom domain e.g.
cms.yourcompany.com to our domain:
app.cmspath.com.
- Save your changes.
- Login to your Tweak Reseller account at http://reseller.tweakcms.com/.
- On the Manage Branding page, enter your domain name, e.g.
cms.yourcompany.com into the "Your domain" field.
- Save your changes.
- Wait up to a few hours for your DNS changes to propagate across
the Web.
- Type your custom domain into a browser to verify that it loads the CMS as expected.
